Non Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) Investors' Discretionary Account (IDA)
AB Bank is keen to provide portfolio management services to Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) Investors through its Merchant Banking Wing (MBW) who are interested to invest in the Bangladeshi companies listed with the bourses of Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange in Bangladesh.
Prospective Clients:
Bangladeshis who are living outside the country and earning foreign exchanges may participate in the Bangladesh capital market and build their portfolio.
Non Resident Bangladeshi-Investors’ Discretionary Account (NRB-IDA):
Merchant Banking Wing (MBW) provides diversified services through portfolio management schemes to Local and NRB investors. NRB investors may open a Non-Resident Investors’ Discretionary Account (NRB-IDA) with the bank to avail portfolio management services for investments in Private Placement, IPO, and Secondary Market.
Services under NRB-IDA:
Building of Portfolio:
A diversified portfolio through investment in IPO, Private Placement and Secondary Market.
Application, Transfer and Collection of Shares and/ or Dividends:
Arranged and maintained by MBW of ABBL on behalf of the clients.
Safe Custody of Securities:
Securities are kept in the AB Bank vault and its own custody.
IPO and Private Placement:
AB Bank furnishes the account holders, information about forthcoming IPOs and Private Placement through FAX, e-mail and letters upon request.
Portfolio Report to the NRB Client:
Investors can access their portfolio any time from any part of the country through E-mail, SMS and Phone Service.
Maintenance of the NRB-IDA:
Any non-resident Bangladeshi can invest in the Bangladesh capital market by remitting fund through banking channel. These invested amounts in the capital market can be transferred and remitted to outside of the country through banking channel. In this regard a client is registered to open three accounts with the bank,
● A Foreign Currency (FC) Account with AB Bank Limited.
● A Non-Resident Investors Taka Account (NITA) with AB Bank Limited
● A Non-Resident Investors’ Discretionary Account with the Merchant Banking Wing of AB Bank Limited
Appointment of an Operator: An account holder may appoint an operator through Power of Attorney to operate his/ her account with the MBW.
Fund Remittances:
As per Bangladesh Bank F.E. Circular No. 17 Dated: 15 November, 2005 Non-Resident Bangladeshi Investors may freely transfer his/ her balance to the Foreign Currency Account and remit the equivalent foreign currency to abroad.
Order maintenance:
Clients can submit buy/ sell order to the MBW in the following manners:
● E-mail order
● Fax order
● Designated operator’s order
Order Execution:
After getting the e-mail order or fax order or designated operator’s order, MBW will check the portfolio/ fund position to execute the respective order of the client through our own broker AB Bank Foundation.
AB Bank Foundation is a Corporate Member of both Dhaka & Chittagong Stock Exchanges and Subsidiary of AB Bank Limited.
Clients may also avail brokerage services and open Beneficiary Owner (BO) from the AB Bank Foundation.
